Between the cliché of the affable farmer living in a pastoral world, continually chewing on a blade of grass, or the other, less picturesque, of demonstrations and scandals, or again, the least unfaithful cliché of a medieval world where running water and electricity have not been invented yet, brune des alpes means to re-establish a semblance of truth.
Bales of straw, sacks of seeds, naturalistic photographs are used as raw material and revisited so as to restore the image of the countryside. The objective visual vocabulary of the farming world is thus offered on a variety of forms, from the objects stricken of the logo inspired by the identifying ring at the ears of cows to a laboratory of aesthetic experiments.
Playing with the affective link re-uniting city-dwellers and countrymen, brune des alpes gives a contemporary reading of the fable of the field mouse and the town mouse.
