These two series have been shot in April 2005 in the framework of the assistant photographers competition. The series about people lying down has been awarded by Fuji Film.
The theme of 2005 competition was "modern nomads, rites and ways of life". I wanted to show a rather "bleak" series, on a rough floor, in order to represent both an urbane nomadism and the world of the street. The "homeless" aspect of the series is nevertheless minimised by a stylisation of the clothes (Narham Clothes) and the light.
The second series is more a search around portrait and make up. The photographs show characters stripping off. Tribal elements start appearing on their bodies and faces and give them another identity.
